Job summary

ASRC Federal Communications seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our ISS2 contact supporting the Air Force, located on Wake Island. This rotational position requires 3 months on the island followed by one month off (unpaid). On-site dormitory housing and meals are provided.

You are responsible for transportation from your home base to Honolulu and then to Wake Island by government aircraft. The role includes diagnosing, repairing heavy equipment and vehicles, maintaining logs, and coordinating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade training preferred.
• 4 years’ experience in heavy equipment repair/maintenance.
• Ability to speak, write and read English.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record.
• Must pass background check and medical clearance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Evaluate extent of repairs and required actions.
• Communicate repairs and actions to Equipment Manager.
• Inspect and repair heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
• Operate tools and diagnostic instruments to perform work.
• Maintain service logs and paperwork.
• Work long hours in adverse conditions to complete project.
