Job summary

ATC is seeking curious, motivated engineers to join its SEED Rotation Program in Wisconsin. This full-time program accelerates early career development through rotations across multiple engineering disciplines, offering broad exposure to the electric utility industry and opportunities to build technical, business, and leadership skills.

SEED engineers join a structured, enterprise-wide development program, deepen technical skills within their home department, and rotate into additional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or relevant engineering experience preferred.
  • Participation in engineering clubs, competitions, technical organizations, or team-based projects preferred.
  • Interest in the utility, energy, or infrastructure industries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in one of ATC's main engineering functional teams.
  • Participate in learning opportunities across engineering and business functions.
  • Support engineering projects that contribute to the planning, design, operation, and maintenance of the electric transmission system.
  • Analyze technical information and provide recommendations to support project and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Learn and apply engineering standards, practices, and industry regulations.
  • Develop an understanding of how ATC's business functions support reliable energy delivery.
  • Build professional relationships through mentorship, networking, and cross-functional experiences.
  • Present project work, recommendations, and findings to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Actively seek feedback and development opportunities throughout the program.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Help Shape the Future of Engineering at ATC

At ATC, engineering is central to our mission to deliver reliable electric transmission services that power communities and economies. We are seeking curious, motivated, and adaptable engineers to join our Strategic Engineering Experience and Development (SEED) Rotation Program. This program is designed to accelerate early career development through rotational assignments across multiple engineering disciplines, helping participants gain broad exposure to the electric utility industry while building the technical, business, and leadership skills needed for a successful engineering career.

Engineers hired into the SEED program are full‑time ATC employees placed directly into a functional engineering unit and participate in a structured, enterprise‑wide development program. SEED engineers deepen their technical skills within their home department while also participating in targeted learning opportunities across ATC. Rotations into additional functional engineering teams continue until a transition into a role is made based on the participants skills and desires, as well as the needs of ATC.

As a Rotation Program Engineer, you will contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced engineers and industry professionals, and develop a strong understanding of how engineering functions work together to support ATC's mission. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys learning, solving complex problems, building relationships, and exploring different engineering paths before selecting a long‑term career focus.
