Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking an Obstetrical Technician to provide basic nursing care and assist the surgical team in the Labor and Delivery unit at Ocean Springs Hospital.

You will anticipate the surgeon's needs, maintain the sterile field, and help prepare the room for delivery or surgery, while performing clerical duties as required. This role reports to a Registered Nurse and supports patient care planning during shifts.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Surgical Technician program preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
• Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).
• Minimum of one year Surgical Technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists and passes instruments during surgical procedures in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Maintains sterile field and prepares room before surgery or delivery.
• Performs routine clerical duties within the unit as needed.
• Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, supports patient care management during shifts.
