Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Rotating Maintenance Technician for the Mont Belvieu Complex to ensure safe operation of rotating equipment, including pumps, turbines, and compressors. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance using written plans and procedures to maintain reliability.

The role requires 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in NGL or chemical facilities, proficiency with precision tools, and flexibility for overtime and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pumps, steam turbines, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, and all rotating equipment.
• Maintain company vehicles and assist operations in lockout/tagout and safety checks.
• Operate mechanical seals, lubrication systems, and mechanical governors.
• Assist with TP/engineering drawings and asset details as needed.
• Complete work orders within MAXIMO CMMS system.
• Willingness to travel for assignments, meetings, and training.

Rotating Maintenance Technician (Maintenance)

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for working at the Mont Belvieu Complex as a Rotating Equipment Technician. Responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and proper function of rotating equipment. Technicians will be required to safely perform structured preventative maintenance [PM] and corrective maintenance [CM] assignments using written job plans and procedures.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain pumps, steam turbines, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, all rotating equipment
• Maintain company vehicles, assist Operations in locking out equipment and verifying equipment is left fail safe
• Mechanical Seals, pump and compressor seals, all lubrication systems
• Mechanical Governors
• All ancillary equipment
• Complete work orders within the CMMS [MAXIMO] system
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to utilize interpersonal communication skills in order to interface with all affected crafts, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work group
• Must be able work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage time and priorities when given multiple tasks
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and be able to respond to callouts as needed to fulfill business objectives
• Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines [ex: eye protection, footwear, FRC]
• Must be proficient or can learn use of tools including hydraulic torque wrenches, laser alignment, dial indicators, micrometers and other precision tools.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software modules [Outlook, Excel, Word, IE]
• Experience working with a CMMS [SAP, MAXIMO]
• Related work experience preferred
• Experience working with Laser Shaft Alignment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Full exposure to extreme weather changes and humidity/moisture relative to atmospheric condition variations Includes exposure to extreme summer and winter temperatures, as well as rain, sleet, and snow
• Work generally performed in an industrial environment (indoors or outdoors) with various hazards and noise exposure.
• Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training.
• The job also requires availability for rotating the on-call schedule, unscheduled callouts and extended workdays and/or workweeks.
• Overtime, Weekend and/or Holiday hours may be required as directed by business needs.
