Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks workers for the Finishing Department to rotate between feeder, catcher and sorter duties. You will ensure cartons are fed correctly, quality-checked, stacked into cases and moved through the taping line, with strict adherence to SQF standards.

This role supports production, maintains a clean work area, and contributes to meeting customer quality expectations in a large packaging operation.

Responsibilities

• Feeder: feed cartons into the machine and ensure proper carton supply.
• Check for variances in box number and collator marks.
• Feed only quality cartons with correct color, register and no unwanted markings.
• Observe for machine malfunctions and stop the glue machine as needed.
• Maintain area cleanliness during make ready.
• Catcher: remove finished cartons and pack into cases.
• Verify correct carton and job number on the carton.
• Ensure cartons are of quality with proper color and register.
• Hand count the first case for each product.
• Pack cartons on rollers to the Tapemaker/Padlocker.
• Maintain area cleanliness during make ready.
• SQF Responsibilities: follow all SQF procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Participate in SQF root-cause and corrective actions as required.
• Report potentially unsafe SQF conditions or complaints to authority.
