Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking a Rotating Equipment Technician Lead in Connecticut. You will lead a team to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment, while ensuring quality and safety.

You will diagnose complex failures, perform precision alignment and balancing, mentor technicians, and communicate status and recommendations to customers and internal teams. Travel to customer sites and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in rotating equipment repair or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to lead and mentor technicians.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools, alignment and drawings.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Strong safety and quality focus.

Competitive Pay:

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $38–48/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pumps, motors, compressors, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
• Diagnose complex equipment failures and recommend repairs and reliability improvements.
• Perform precision measurements, alignment, and balancing using technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
• Coordinate daily assignments with management, monitor progress, and review completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Train and mentor technicians, providing hands‑on guidance and troubleshooting support.
• Communicate job status and repair recommendations to customers and internal teams, and maintain accurate service records.
• Promote safe work practices and a clean, organized work environment.
• Drive a company vehicle to customer sites and support field service assignments, including overnight travel, overtime, and emergency calls as needed.

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or a formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Five or more years of rotating equipment repair, industrial maintenance, or field service experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills, including proficiency with precision measuring tools, alignment, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to guide daily work, train technicians, and lead by example.
• Strong organization, communication, and customer service skills, with a commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to perform physical work in shop and field environments, using appropriate lifting methods and assistance.
• Valid driver's license, ability to meet company driving requirements, and availability for travel, overnight stays, and emergency service as needed.
