Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to maintain safe operation and reliability of refinery rotating equipment by applying standard engineering principles and performing root cause analysis to prevent failures.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in engineering and 4+ years of refinery or petrochemical plant experience with rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, turbines, and compressors. SAP and MS Office skills, and TWIC eligibility are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil) or other related engineering degree.
• 4+ years refinery or petrochemical plant experience with rotating equipment.
• SAP and MS Office familiarity; valid driver's license; TWIC eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations to increase rotating equipment availability.
• Apply engineering principles to solve rotating equipment problems.
• Participate in hazard and operability studies and resolve action items.
• Champion reliability and train staff to raise equipment awareness.
• Use vibration and process data to predict failures and prevent damage.
• Support maintenance programs and turnarounds with equipment input.
• Identify improvements to increase availability and reduce costs.
