Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation in Lake Charles, LA, is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to safeguard reliability and safe operation of refinery rotating equipment. The role requires applying standard engineering principles and leading root-cause analysis for equipment issues.

Ideal candidates bring a mechanical/chemical/electrical/civil background with refinery or petrochemical experience, and the ability to manage projects with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil) or related engineering degree.
• 4 years minimum experience; 10 years preferred in refinery or petrochemical with rotating equipment.
• SAP, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation tools; familiarity with the internet.
• Ability to manage assigned projects under limited supervision.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance & operations to increase rotating equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs.
• Apply engineering principles and troubleshooting to rotating equipment problems.
• Participate in hazard and operability studies and address actions.
• Promote rotating equipment reliability through training and awareness activities.
• Utilize vibration and process data to diagnose impending failures and prevent damage.
• Establish guidelines and monitor performance of preventative maintenance programs.
