Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC in Connecticut is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to contribute to all phases of engine development, from concept to testing. The role involves designing components, using SolidWorks for CAD, and analyzing systems with MATLAB and GT-Suite.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong problem solving skills, and experience prototyping with machinists and vendors.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Proficiency in CAD design; SolidWorks preferred.
• Familiarity with MATLAB and mechanical system modeling/analysis.
• Hands-on experience with building, testing, or prototyping mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and develop engine components and subsystems.
• Use SolidWorks for 3D CAD modeling of engine parts and assemblies.
• Conduct analysis with hand methods, MATLAB, and GT-Suite.
• Support prototype fabrication with machinists and vendors.
• Participate in testing rotary engines on dynamometers and data systems.
• Document build details and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate across teams and present findings clearly.
