Job summary

The Chula Vista Elementary School District is seeking a food service worker to assist in meal preparation, counting, assembling, cooking, heating, and serving food in a school environment. The role includes general cleaning and related tasks to maintain a clean, safe kitchen.

Job Summary

Under immediate supervision, in a fast-paced environment, prepares and/or assists in preparing, counting, assembling, cooking, heating, and serving a variety of food in a food service environment; does general cleaning and performs related work as required.

Qualifications

• Current Resume for both external and internal candidates.


• Evidence of recent successful paid experience in the preparation or serving of food.


• Ability to follow oral and written directions.


• Ability to prepare and serve a wide variety of meals.


• Ability to work rapidly and efficiently in performing tasks.


• Ability to work effectively with school personnel and students.


• Apply and maintain high standards of sanitation and personal hygiene.

Comments and Other Information

Probationary employees serving the initial probationary period (6 months) in the District are not eligible for voluntary transfer. However, they are eligible to apply for a promotional opportunity pursuant to Article 11, Transfer of the CVCEO/District Agreement.
