Job summary

Lea+Elliott, Inc. is seeking a Vehicle Systems Engineer to oversee installation and commissioning of a passenger ropeway system at Newark Liberty International Airport.

You will monitor on-site activities, verify testing, and ensure safety and code compliance with experienced coordination among contractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders. Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related)
• 10+ years of experience in installation and commissioning of passenger ropeway systems
• PE license preferred
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics
• Hands-on experience with rigging, splicing, and tensioning specialized wire ropes

Responsibilities

• Monitor on-site installation, alignment, and conformance with contract requirements.
• Witness and validate system testing and commissioning activities including speed, acceleration, and emergency tests.
• Observe rope installation operations including pulling, splicing, tensioning, and alignment of wire ropes.
• Ensure compliance with ANSI B77.1, CSA Z98, and CEN standards and safety requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports, and manage punch list items through final acceptance.
• Coordinate with system suppliers, contractors, inspectors, and client representatives for efficient project execution.
