Job summary

YMCA Camp Greenville is seeking a dedicated Ropes Coordinator to lead our ropes and challenge course programming, including climbing walls, high ropes, zip lines, and related activities. You will supervise the Ropes Program Specialist team, ensure safety, and guide staff training and readiness.

You will work with full-time leadership to uphold camp values, maintain equipment, and respond to emergencies with professionalism and care for campers and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating ropes or challenge course activities.
• Ability to lead a team and enforce procedures.
• Willingness to complete site-specific training and demonstrate competency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and supervision of campers, staff, and equipment during ropes/challenge activities.
• Direct and supervise ropes programming, including climbing walls, high ropes, zip lines.
• Provide daily leadership, scheduling, and supervision to the Ropes Program Specialist team.
• Assist leadership with staff training, practice, and assessment of readiness.
• Coordinate opening/closing, equipment checks, and logs for ropes areas.
• Maintain inventory, care, and reporting of ropes equipment.
• Address equipment concerns and safety issues promptly and review if needed.
• Ensure supervision and safe practices for all ropes activities; support cabin leaders as needed.
• Model camp values and maintain safety, integrity, and enthusiasm.
