Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah is seeking a Rope Rescue Specialist for seasonal full-time on-mountain training in cliff and high-angle rope rescues. You will maintain and order rescue equipment and coordinate with ski patrol leadership.

The role requires proven rope rescue expertise, ability to train others, and rigging skills. You will conduct inspections, document training, and help expand rescue techniques while supporting a unionized patrol team.

Qualifications

• Must be employed as a Solitude Mountain Patroller.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in cliff and high angle rescues involving knots, anchors and rope systems.
• Ability to conduct high angle toboggan rescues and train patrollers in rope rescue techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate rope rescue training with patrol management.
• Document all rope rescue training.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory log of high angle rescue equipment.
• Research new rescue techniques and equipment and prepare orders.
• Care for and maintain rescue ropes and equipment, including storage.
• Perform pre-season, monthly, and post-use inspections.
