Shamin Hotels in Virginia Beach is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead room attendants, schedule shifts, and uphold the highest cleanliness standards across our portfolio of hotels. You will train staff, inspect rooms, and collaborate with maintenance to ensure guest-ready spaces that reflect our hospitality values.

Responsibilities include safety training, conducting inspections, and driving efficiency while supporting a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising housekeeping teams in hospitality.
• Strong attention to detail and guest service orientation.
• Ability to train staff and enforce safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure coverage.
• Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and repairs.
• Provide feedback to room attendants to improve efficiency.
• Ensure associates have supplies, equipment, and PPE.
• Train associates on safety standards and enforce them.
• Complete accident investigations and preventive steps.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed (beds, vacuuming, cleaning).
• Track room status and discrepancies during shifts.
• Handle opening and closing shift duties.
• Notify maintenance of repairs.
• Monitor hotel cleanliness including exterior areas.
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the standards of cleanliness are met. They assign tasks, inspect work to ensure it's up to standard, and provide training on how to best handle customers' requests.

Essential Job Functions

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspects all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, etc. are clean and in good repair.
• Provide efficient and objective feedback to room attendants to drive efficiency and quality within the housekeeping department
• Ensure that all associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms including nametags and designated PPE.
• Trains associates on safety standards and enforces those standards consistently. Identifies associates engaging in unsafe behaviors and retaining them appropriately.
• Completes accident investigations and takes steps to prevent future accidents
• Performs all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning
• Verifies and updates the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift
• Perform opening and closing shift duties.
• Notifies maintenance department of maintenance repairs necessary
• Monitor cleanliness of hotels including parking lot and exterior entrances.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
