Job summary

Shamin Hotels in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure cleanliness standards are met, assign tasks, inspect work, and train staff for exemplary service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and repairs.
• Provide feedback to room attendants to improve efficiency and quality.
• Ensure associates have proper supplies, equipment, and PPE.
• Train staff on safety standards and enforce compliance.
• Complete safety investigations and implement preventive steps.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed (beds, vacuuming, cleaning).
• Track status of rooms and discrepancies during shifts.
• Handle opening/closing shift duties as assigned.
• Notify maintenance of repairs needed and coordinate with teams.
• Monitor hotel cleanliness including exterior entrances.
• Be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the standards of cleanliness are met. They assign tasks, inspect work to ensure it's up to standard, and provide training on how to best handle customers' requests.

Essential Job Functions

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspects all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, etc. are clean and in good repair.
• Provide efficient and objective feedback to room attendants to drive efficiency and quality within the housekeeping department
• Ensure that all associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms including nametags and designated PPE.
• Trains associates on safety standards and enforces those standards consistently. Identifies associates engaging in unsafe behaviors and retaining them appropriately.
• Completes accident investigations and takes steps to prevent future accidents
• Perform all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning
• Verifies and updates the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift
• Perform opening and closing shift duties.
• Notifies maintenance department of maintenance repairs necessary
• Monitor cleanliness of hotels including parking lot and exterior entrances.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
