Job summary

The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills is seeking a Rooms Controller to oversee daily room inventory and assignments, ensuring the hotel remains balanced while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role collaborates with Front Office, Revenue/Reservations and Sales to manage reservations, VIP placements and group rooming details.

Responsibilities include reviewing arrivals, assigning rooms by type and VIP status, and ensuring accurate routing and billing for group and transient

Qualifications

  • Previous Front Office, Reservations or Rooms Division experience in a reputable hotel or resort environment.
  • Experience with Opera or a comparable property management system preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hotel reservations, room inventory, room types, billing and routing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across Front Office, Revenue/Reservations and Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily room inventory and balance the house to maximize room availability and accommodate guest needs.
  • Review upcoming arrivals and strategically assign rooms based on room type, guest preferences, VIP status and operational requirements.
  • Monitor inventory for one-night gaps and other opportunities to optimize room availability.
  • Manage VIP room placements and ensure appropriate VIP coding is applied, including American Express and Virtuoso reservations.
  • Review and balance Run of House (ROH) group reservations and room-type allocations.
  • Enter group rooming lists and process ongoing rooming list changes and updates.
  • Ensure routing and billing instructions are accurately established for group and transient reservations.
  • Maintain accurate reservation notes, traces, alerts and special requests to ensure proper communication with Front Office and other operating departments.
  • Review upcoming reservations three days prior to arrival to verify notes, traces, requests and other pertinent reservation details.
  • Assign rooms for next-day arrivals and establish hard blocks when appropriate.
  • Assist the Transient Sales team with entering Consortia and Corporate Negotiated reservations in Opera, including appropriate billing instructions, notes and traces.
  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with PR, barter and other designated reservations in Opera.
  • Manage the Reservations inbox and respond to reservation-related requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage external guest messaging through Expedia and Booking.com.
  • Work closely with Front Office, Revenue/Reservations and Sales to communicate inventory challenges, special requests, VIP arrivals and other matters requiring attention.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel room types, services, amenities and policies.
  • Keep immediate supervisor informed of inventory concerns, reservation issues and other matters requiring attention.

Job Description

Job Requirements:

Salary Range

$28.75 - $31.75 per hour
