Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Rooms Controller for Hilton Short Hills in Short Hills, NJ. The role coordinates room assignments across Front Desk, Housekeeping, Reservations, and Revenue to optimize occupancy and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of front office experience, strong communication, and familiarity with PMS systems. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to support hotel operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or business degree is a plus.
• 1–2 years of front office or reservations experience.
• Knowledge of property management systems (OnQ, PEP, PMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily room allocations and assignments based on arrival/departure reports and guest preferences.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure clean rooms are ready for check-ins.
• Manage and optimize room inventory to maximize occupancy and revenue.
• Ensure VIP, loyalty program and special guest requests are met and rooms are pre-blocked as appropriate.
• Communicate with Reservations and Sales regarding group room blocks and special allocations.
• Assist Front Desk in resolving room-related issues with minimal impact to guest experience.
• Monitor same-day arrivals and forecasted occupancy for strategic room allocations.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies including safety and guest privacy protocols.
• Prepare and distribute reports on room status, inventory, and occupancy forecasts.
• Participate in daily briefings and stay updated on hotel events and promotions.
