Job summary

The Christ College seeks a Room Service Attendant to deliver meal trays to patients, assist with bedside setup, and ensure accurate orders and courteous service. You will handle guest trays, collect cash payments, and maintain sanitation in food service areas following HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities include delivering trays promptly, confirming patient identifiers, communicating with nursing staff, and completing cleaning duties daily.

Qualifications

• YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2 years of related work experience. Health care experience preferred.

Job Description

Responsible for delivery of Room Service meal trays to patients, including assistance with meal set-up at bedside, delivery and collection of payment for guest trays, providing excellent customer service and sanitation.

Responsibilities

Delivers Room Service meal trays to patients with speed and accuracy. Creates goodwill for the department by greeting the patient/guest with a smile. Follows tray delivery script for entering patient room and follows proper hand hygiene protocol. Verifies 2 patient identifiers prior to delivering meal tray. Assists with meal set-up as needed, including moving bedside table within reach. Confirms accuracy of meal order and provides patient with excellent customer service. Reports any patient complaints/concerns to a FANS Manager.

Provides timely notification to nursing unit of prepared trays for insulin patients prior to delivering tray to the patient.

Delivers Room Service guest trays to appropriate patient room. Collects cash payment for guest tray and returns promptly if change is needed. Confirms accuracy of meal order and provides guest with excellent customer service.

Returns soiled tray carts to dishroom for proper cleaning and sanitation.

Maintains clean and sanitary conditions in food service areas. Handles food properly during service. Follows HACCP principles and complies with hospital and Health Department standards. Completes and documents daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments. Reports any safety concerns to a FANS Manager.

Attends meetings as required to enhance knowledge, job skills and communication within the department. Follows acceptable practices related to: safety, sanitation, infection control, quality control, and customer relations.

Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or needed. May assist in other areas as relief.
