Job description

Hourly Rate: $18.50 an hour.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the property's guest rooms in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Change linens and make beds, clean bathrooms, sweep and dust guest rooms, empty trash, and maintain cleanliness of balconies and terraces.
• Clean and dust room furnishings as assigned.
• Restock guest‑room amenities and literature as needed and maintain the linen closet in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
• Assist with restocking and respond to guest requests regarding room cleanliness, amenities and linen to exceed guest satisfaction.
• Immediately report any repairs or maintenance needed in guest rooms, public areas or back‑of‑house areas.
• Resolve guest complaints within authority, otherwise refer the matter to management.
• Notify supervisor and/or security of any unusual events, missing items or alleged theft.
• Notify management of problems resulting from guest complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior.
• Retrieve, stock, restock and store the housekeeping cart according to safety and security procedures.
• Return any items found in guest rooms, hallways or back‑of‑house to the department and log details (date, location, description and finder’s name).
• Clean all corridors and service areas as assigned.
• Notify management of unsafe conditions or required maintenance.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience in a hotel environment preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Completed training on proper disposal/handling of sharps, such as needles, and adherence to procedures.
• Completion of required training as scheduled.
• Willingness to work varying schedules, including holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.
