Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to support our resort operations. You will sort, wash, and process linen, then fold, iron, and stock items to company standards. Expect daily housekeeping tasks, guest interaction, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction.

The role requires basic housekeeping knowledge, ability to follow schedules, and reliable teamwork to maintain clean, well-organized guest rooms and public areas.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 0–2 years in resort laundry, housekeeping or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, friendly service to all guests.
  • Clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, and lounges as well as guest rooms.
  • Sort and process resort linen including bed linens, table linens, and towels.
  • Distribute linen, towels, and room supplies using wheeled carts and restock as needed.
  • Restock room supplies and replace laundry bags and slips.
  • Gather dirty linens and change linens daily as needed.
  • Inspect rooms for proper setup and report maintenance issues.

Job description

Perform a variety of housekeeping duties including sorting, washing, and processing resort linen including bed linens, table linens, and towels. Laundry will then be folded, ironed, and stacked, all in accordance with company procedures and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides professional, friendly service to all guests.
  • Cleans corridors, lobbies, stairways, and lounges as well as guest rooms.
  • Organizes work schedule from the room status list, arrivals, and departures.
  • Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming floor as needed.
  • Scrub sinks, basins, bathtubs, showers, and toilets.
  • Distributes linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand and organize and restock cart at the end of the shift.
  • Restocks room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, writing supplies and replaces laundry bags and slips.
  • Gather dirty linens and change linens daily as needed, such as towels and sheets.
  • Replaces dirty linens with clean items and stores all dirty laundry in line with company policy.
  • Inspects and turns mattresses regularly, checks all appliances in rooms are in working order and realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
  • Responds to guest queries and requests, responds to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses, deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms and remove room service items
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of guest rooms and follow all company safety and security procedures.
  • Observe and report damage of hotel property report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
  • If applicable: drive company vehicles as needed with valid license.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Years of experience: 0-2 years of experience in resort laundry, housekeeping or another equivalent related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping department duties.
  • Familiarity with computer software word processing, database and spreadsheet (especially Excel) is essential.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction. Must be detailed oriented. Need strong clerical, organizational and communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly walks, stands, and lifts up to 50 lbs.

Seldom/never sits or works on a computer.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
