Job summary

Globe Iron Roofing seeks an experienced Roofing Sheet Metal Installation Foreman to lead field crews on commercial projects. You will oversee daily sheet metal installation activities, ensure safety, quality, production standards, and coordinate with project management and other trades.

The successful candidate will read drawings, manage crew performance, inspect completed work for watertightness, and mentor junior installers while maintaining a clean, organized job site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial roofing sheet metal installation experience.
• Previous experience leading or supervising a roofing or sheet metal crew.
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing sheet metal systems and installation practices.
• Ability to accurately measure, lay out, fabricate as needed, and install sheet metal components.
• Knowledge of OSHA and commercial construction safety practices.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with crew members, project management, and company supervision.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver roofing materials, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise sheet metal installation crews on commercial roofing projects.
• Coordinate daily work activities and assign tasks to crew members.
• Install and oversee the installation of sheet metal components and related systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and manufacturer details.
• Verify dimensions and field conditions before and during installation.
• Ensure materials are properly staged, protected, and used efficiently.
• Coordinate sheet metal activities with roofing crews, project management, other trades, and subcontractors.
• Monitor production schedules and communicate progress, challenges, and potential delays to supervision.
• Inspect completed work to ensure proper installation, appearance, watertightness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Identify field conditions, conflicts, or required changes and communicate them promptly to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
• Ensure all crew members follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Conduct or participate in daily toolbox talks and job-site safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
• Properly operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, brakes, shears, lifts, and other equipment.
• Minimize material waste and maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, and materials.
• Train, mentor, and develop less-experienced sheet metal installers.
• Complete required daily paperwork, production reports, time records, material reports, and safety documentation.

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Roofing Sheet Metal Installation Foreman to lead field crews on commercial roofing projects. The Foreman will oversee daily sheet metal installation activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial roofing sheet metal experience, understands job-site conditions, can read and interpret construction plans and details, and has the leadership skills necessary to manage a crew while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise sheet metal installation crews on commercial roofing projects.

- Coordinate daily work activities and assign tasks to crew members.

- Install and oversee the installation of, but not limited to:

• Copings and gravel stops
• Fascia and edge metal
• Metal counterflashings
• Wall flashings
• Roof-to-wall flashings
• Scuppers and conductor heads
• Gutters and downspouts
• Custom sheet metal assemblies
• Other roofing sheet metal and specialty metal systems

- Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and manufacturer details.

• Experience reading architectural and structural plans.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience operating aerial lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, or other construction equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
