Job description

Western Specialty Contractors is expanding our Roofing team in Houston, TX. For this role, we are looking for a hands-on leader with 10+ years of experience in commercial, low-slope roofing. Pay is dependent on experience and ranges from $25-$30 per hour.

As a Foreman, you will:

1. Identify existing and predictable hazards to work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees.
2. Communicate effectively to supervise employees and maintain customer relations.
3. Identify and investigate leaks, and lead and carry out patching and repair projects in all types of commercial roofs.
4. Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds.
5. Oversee and maintain company safety requirements.
6. Other tasks as required based on business need.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
2. The ability to read drawings is necessary.
3. Physically, workers must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see (naturally or with correction).
4. Ability to work at heights, at extreme temperatures, and to wear company's safety equipment is essential.
5. Experience with crew leadership and professional communication with customers.
6. Must have commercial roofing experience.
7. Proficient with leak investigations/roofing patch and repairs in all types of commercial roofs, to include:
1. TPO
2. PVC
3. Asphalt BUR/Gravel
4. EPDM
5. Cold Process
6. Fluid Applied
7. Etc.
8. Bilingual preferred.
9. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Data Forma, and Edge platforms preferred.
10. Must have reliable transportation and pass a drug screening.
