Job summary

Optimal Solution Company seeks a Design Release Engineer for Roof Mechanisms Systems to drive design, development, validation, release, and implementation of moonroofs and convertible roofs within vehicles.

You will guide suppliers, manage design attributes, and ensure SDS/regulatory compliance while driving cost and weight optimization across development and production life. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in automotive mechanisms design, development, or launch.
• CAD capable (CATIA, 3DX, Teamcenter) and familiarity with CAE tools.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead roof systems suppliers to meet program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
• Apply GPDS knowledge to build on-time delivery plans.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a robust vehicle-level system and validate interfaces.
• Prepare and present technical presentations for peer and management reviews.
• Review CAD in Teamcenter and ensure compliance with design rules and requirements.
• Develop DFMEAs, SCCAF, P-Diagrams, and DVP&Rs; lead design reviews.
• Travel to supplier and North America plant sites as required.
