Job summary

Brooklyn SolarWorks is seeking hands-on Roof Installers for NYC-area rooftop solar projects. You’ll join a 3–5 person crew, load materials, build support structures, and wire solar arrays according to diagrams. The role requires travel to sites across boroughs and adherence to safety protocols.

You will work 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with 90% travel, and deliver code-compliant installations from start to finish. The position offers benefits and room for growth within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS Driver's License with a 3-year clean driving history.
• OSHA 30 certification + 10-hour SST required.
• 2 years of construction experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders.
• Comfort working at heights and on ladders.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent time management.
• Ability to travel and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with OSHA safety rules and protocols.
• Drive to job locations as assigned by Crew lead/Manager.
• Move materials around job sites, including hoisting to the roof.
• Assemble and install the support structure for solar PV panels per codes.
• Waterproof roof penetrations.
• Wire up solar arrays to Brooklyn SolarWorks specs.
• Clean up job sites and lower materials safely after work.
• Communicate with crew lead and team on daily activities.
• Remain on site until cleared to leave.
• Carry out additional duties as required by Crew lead/Manager.

Location: NYC Metro Area (Field-Based – travels to job sites across the boroughs)

Hours: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary based on business needs)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Roof Installation Manager

About the Role

Brooklyn SolarWorks is looking for hands‑on, safety‑focused Roof Installers to join our rooftop solar installation crews. In this role, you'll work as part of a 3‑5 person team. As a Solar Installer, you will load materials to rooftops, use plan sets to build support structures, and follow electrical diagrams to wire up solar arrays. You'll travel to job sites throughout the day, work closely with your crew lead and teammates, and help build safe, code‑compliant solar installations from start to finish. If you like staying active, working with your hands, and being part of a mission‑driven team, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

• Maintain compliance with all OSHA safety rules and protocols for the company.
• Drive to the associated job locations for each day’s appointment, as assigned by Crew lead/ Manager.
• Move materials around jobsites, including hoisting to roof.
• Assemble and install the support structure for solar PV panels according to building codes, manufacturing specification and standards.
• Waterproof roof penetrations.
• Wire up solar arrays to BSW specs according to the 3-line diagram.
• Clean up job sites and safely lower materials from off the roof after job completion.
• Communicate with the crew lead and rest of the team on the day's activities.
• Remain on site until the crew lead/ manager clears the team to leave.
• Carry out additional duties as required by Crew lead/Manager.

What We're Looking For

Required:

Compensation: $24-$28/per hour
