831 Stories is seeking a hands-on Social & Content Manager to own day-to-day social, web, and email content, bringing our romance world to life across platforms.

You will shoot, edit, write captions, manage content calendar, coordinate assets, and publish posts, while aligning with the strategy set by our small team.

Based in New York City, you should be comfortable attending in-person events and turning ideas into consistently great execution.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in social media, content, brand, editorial, or related field.
• Strong executor who delivers, not just talks about ideas.
• Fast, detail-oriented, resourceful, reliable with multiple moving parts.
• Strong writing and editing ability, able to adapt to established brand voice.
• Excited to work at a small, growing company.
• Based in New York City and able to attend in-person events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day management and execution of 831 Stories' content across Instagram, Klaviyo, Substack, TikTok, and Pinterest.
• Manage and maintain the social content calendar and schedule posts, launches, events, and recurring content.
• Produce social content from concept through posting, including shooting/editing video and creating graphics; package material for social.
• Coordinate asset sourcing from internal and external partners; write/craft copy; adapt material for social use.
• Translate broader strategy and creative direction into a steady stream of excellent content.
• Cover 831 Stories events, author appearances, launches, and moments in real time, including evenings and weekends.
• Maintain an organized library of social assets to avoid losing photos, video, quotes, press, and community content.
• Monitor trends across social formats, conversations, memes, creators, books, culture; identify meaningful opportunities.
• Track basic channel performance and apply learnings to improve execution.
• Help build systems that make social operations faster, smarter, and more consistent as 831 grows.
