Salary: Starting at $20 and up, based on experience

CAREER OPPORTUNITY:

ROLLING STOCK DIESEL MECHANIC

Location: APPLETON | WISCONSIN

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide routine maintenance for heavy trucks and fleet vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs on various vehicle systems including electrical controls, brake systems, transmissions, and pneumatic controls.
• Learn to perform DOT inspections to ensure FMCSA compliance.
• Communicate effectively and work in a team environment to assist and collaborate on repairs.
• Fabricate, modify, or install equipment or parts using specialized tools such as welders, plasma cutters, and metal cutting saws.
• Work safely around moving equipment and traffic, maintaining a clean and compliant work environment.
• Cross-train on other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years of mechanical experience or training.
• Own basic tools with capacity to expand as needed.
• Self-motivated with good judgment skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with quick response to emergencies.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, with basic math skills.
• Ability to assess hazards and work safely.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
