Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Roller Operator for our local Florida operations. You will operate the heavy rolling machine, assist crew with site preparation, and ensure proper material compaction of subgrades and asphalt while monitoring gauges and fuels.

The role requires at least 1 year in paving, a valid Florida driver’s license, and the ability to work days, nights, or weekends. Drug screening and background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of paving experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Employee may be subject to drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate the heavy rolling machine to compact subgrades and asphalt and assist with related site preparation duties.
• Determine the speed and direction of the machine.
• Monitor gauges and fluid levels during daily operation.
• Perform light mechanical adjustments and assist with repairs of equipment.
• Assist with lubrication and fueling of the roller.
• Follow safe practices and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Roller Operator position for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will operate the heavy rolling machine to compact subgrades and asphalt and assist related crew in adding fill, placing the stone, laying asphalt, dumping trucks, and other site preparation duties
• Ability to determine the speed and direction of the machine
• Requires knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures
• Will operate hand roller, hand tamp, or guide portable power roller over areas not accessible to road roller
• Check all fluids at the beginning of the engine startup and continue to monitor gauges and fluid levels throughout the daily operation
• Ability to perform light mechanical adjustments and/or assist mechanic in performing a repair on equipment, assist with the lubrication and fueling of the roller
• Follow safe practices and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the paving industry required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license
• Employee conducts drug screening and background check
