Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking a Roller Operator for our Daytona Beach area operations. You will operate the heavy road roller to compact subgrades and asphalt, assist with site prep, and support crew with fill and rock placement.

Qualified candidates have at least 1 year in paving, a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, and a valid Florida driver's license. Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends and pass drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in paving.
• Must be able to operate roller equipment and assist with site prep.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy road roller to compact subgrades and asphalt.
• Assist crew with fill, stone placement, and other site preparation tasks.
• Determine speed and direction of the machine.
• Operate alternative rollers (hand roller/hand tamp) in hard-to-reach areas.
• Check fluids at engine start and monitor gauges and fluid levels daily.
• Perform light mechanical adjustments and assist with equipment repairs.
• Follow safe practices and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

ROLLER OPERATOR C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR)

CWR is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Roller Operator position for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will operate the heavy rolling machine to compact subgrades and asphalt and assist related crew in adding fill, placing the stone, laying asphalt, dumping trucks, and other site preparation duties
• Ability to determine the speed and direction of the machine
• Requires knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures
• Will operate hand roller, hand tamp, or guide portable power roller over areas not accessible to road roller
• Check all fluids at the beginning of the engine startup and continue to monitor gauges and fluid levels throughout the daily operation
• Ability to perform light mechanical adjustments and/or assist mechanic in performing a repair on equipment, assist with the lubrication and fueling of the roller
• Follow safe practices and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the paving industry required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver's license
• Employee conducts drug screening and background check
