Job summary

Amsted Rail Petersburg is seeking a Roller Operator to run and maintain a grinding line, producing precision metal parts in a fast-paced setting. You will follow procedures to meet customer specs and Amsted Rail standards.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to lift 10–50 lbs, and prior industrial experience. It involves setup assistance, tool use, and monitoring equipment performance throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
• Lift 10 to 50 lbs regularly.
• Stand and move throughout the department and shift.
• Mechanical aptitude and prior industrial experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail; outlined by the Amsted Rail Health & Safety program.
• Measure dimensions of processed work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using gauges, per quality plan.
• Check condition of work for defects and adjust machines as needed.
• Assist setup personnel with changing over of work, attachments for various lines/cells.
• Operate and use hand and power tools safely.
• Record production run information in the company computer system.
