Job summary

Amsted Rail Petersburg is seeking a Roller Operator to operate and maintain a grinding line, producing precision metal parts in a safety-conscious environment. You will measure dimensions, assist setup, monitor conveyors, and troubleshoot equipment issues to meet customer specifications.

This role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to lift 10–50 lbs, and prior industrial experience. PPE is provided; night and day shifts available at the Petersburg plant.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug and background screening required.
• Lift, push and pull 10–50 lbs.
• Wear department PPE as required.
• Able to stand and move throughout the shift.
• Mechanical aptitude and prior industrial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a grinding line to produce precision parts.
• Measure dimensions with gauges to ensure specifications.
• Assist setup with changing over of work lines and attachments.
• Monitor transfer conveyors and load/unload robots.
• Troubleshoot quality or equipment issues and adjust machines accordingly.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Operate forklift to move part bins.
• Record production data in company system.
• Follow safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements.
