Job summary

Mittera is seeking Roll Tenders to join our pressroom team. You will ensure a steady supply of roll paper stock, prepare rolls for splicer, and assist with make-ready duties. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED and 1–3 years of press experience, with strong reading, math, and communication skills.

Maintain logs, report roll inventories, and keep areas clean while supporting continuous improvement efforts. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of press experience preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions and memos clearly.
• Strong communication with all levels of the organization.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills for shop floor tasks.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Stay organized and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Verify roll inventory numbers against job tickets.
• Record roll numbers and weight on log sheets.
• Prepare rolls for splicer and stage rolls.
• Move and hang rolls, check oil levels, and maintain cleanliness.
• Assist with make-ready and web breaks as needed.
• Return paper to inventory and complete end-of-job paperwork.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the pressroom.
