Job summary

Nahan is seeking a Roll Tender-Feeder in the Press department. The role involves setting up and operating auxiliary equipment, assisting with make-ready and maintenance on heat set and non-heat set presses to produce a quality product.

The position requires reading work tickets, attention to substrate details, and adherence to lean manufacturing and safety policies. Shifts are 12 hours, 7AM–7PM, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine malfunctions.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify quality defects.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
• Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates all auxiliary equipment.
• Maintain acceptable 'splice mode' efficiently.
• Feed paper on a sheetfed press.
• Roll tends on all web presses.
• Assist crew as needed in all positions.
• Train toward Robot Technician/Pressman I; understand Pressman II roles.
• Handle hazardous waste safely per procedures.
• Recognize paper substrates and viscosity for coating applications.
• Read and understand job tickets.
• Help with paper and inventory handling.
• Maintain a clean area around printing machinery.
• Perform TPM tasks to maintain equipment performance.
• Follow Nahan lean manufacturing principles and safety policies.
• Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
