Annual Salary: $49,586 - $53,215

Hourly Pay Rate: $23.84 - $25.58

As a Roll Off Driver - FT - Solid Waste Department, you help protect public health and strengthen community impact across Rutherford County by keeping collection and transport operations safe, reliable, and responsive. This purpose-driven role supports our mission through consistent service and careful equipment handling.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operate roll-off and other large trucks/vehicles and related heavy equipment as assigned


• Haul and transport materials to designated sites and support solid waste projects/activities


• Perform manual work connected to daily routes, sites, and assigned tasks


• Conduct and document federally mandated pre-trip and post-trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and basic upkeep to help maintain trucks/equipment


• Follow OSHA/DOT requirements and safe work practices at all times

Preferred qualifications/skills:

• Heavy equipment operation certifications (e.g., backhoe, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader)


• Mechanical aptitude for inspection/maintenance; strong physical stamina; basic communication skills


• Roll-off hoist experience, cable/hook-lift operations, and a clean driving record (MVR)
