Job summary

LRS is looking for a professional driver in the United States to provide, replace, and remove roll-off containers and compactors for customers. You will operate trucks in a safe, efficient manner while adhering to OSHA, DOT rules and company procedures.

Responsibilities include completing pre/post-trip inspections, maintaining logs, and communicating with Dispatch and Route Manager to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. A valid Class B CDL and DOT medical card are required.

Qualifications

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid Class B CDL.
  • Must have a valid DOT medical card or obtain prior to hire.
  • No DUI/OUI in the last 5 years or 2 in 10 years.
  • No license suspensions in the last 2 years.
  • No more than 3 moving violations in the last 2 years.
  • Ability to read and speak English well.

  • Complete work assignments safely and efficiently to avoid damage and accidents.
  • Operate vehicle following safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements and local laws.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and complete DVIR documents.
  • Report unsafe situations or service issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attend scheduled training and meetings as required by LRS.
  • Work with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and best practices.
  • Notify Route Manager of incidents, accidents or property damage.
  • Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Maintain driver log sheets and end-of-day paperwork.
  • Communicate professionally with customers.
  • Keep vehicle clean and free of trash/debris.
  • Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day checkout.
  • Assist other drivers to meet customer needs.

Operations Supervisor

Responsibilities
  • Provide, replace and remove roll-off containers and compactors for customers and dump materials at a disposal site or recycling center.
  • Complete work assignments in a safe and efficient manner to avoid damage and accidents whenever possible.
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with Lakeshore Waste Services safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
  • Immediately report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by LRS or directed by the Route Manager.
  • Work closely with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Maintain and update driver log sheets throughout the day.
  • Communicate professionally with customers.
  • Keep commercial vehicle clean and free of trash/debris.
  • Follow route assignments as directed and complete end of day documentation and check-out process.
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Qualifications
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have at least a valid Class B CDL.
  • Must have a valid DOT medical card or obtain prior to hire.
  • Must not have any DUI’s or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
  • Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
  • Work under moderate supervision.
  • Requires pushing and pulling up to 110 pounds.
  • Frequent walking and standing up to 8 hours per day.
  • Physically able to enter, climb and leave truck cab frequently.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate controls on truck.
Additional Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
