Job summary

Priority Waste seeks a Roll Off Truck Driver to safely operate a roll-off truck and related equipment on assigned routes, hauling solid waste and recycling debris for industrial, commercial, and residential customers. The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A or B CDL, has 1 year of roll-off truck experience and 1 year in the solid waste industry, and can pass required background and DOT drug screens.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL required (Class A or B).
• 1-year experience operating a roll-off truck.
• 1-year experience in solid waste industry.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen.
• Safe driving record with no avoidable accidents in past five years.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Effective professional communication with customers and dispatch.
• May be required to work in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post trip inspections of truck.
• Operate truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
• Mount and dismount a heavy‑duty truck many times each day.
• Complete assigned route daily, leaving the customer’s location free of debris.
• Professionally communicate with customers as needed.
• Notify Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents.
• Notify Route Manager/Dispatch of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazards, etc.
• Identify and report all containers in need of repair/replacement.
• Attend training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Communicate customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch.

Job Purpose

In your role as a Roll Off Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a roll off truck and ancillary equipment on assigned route to haul solid waste/recycling debris from large, high volume industrial/construction customers, as well as residential and commercial customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post trip inspections of truck

• Mount and dismount a heavy‑duty truck many times each day

• Immediately communicate mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL
• 1‑year experience operating a roll‑off truck preferred
• 1‑year experience in solid waste industry preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen
• Must have a safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years
• Must have the ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and internal customer service
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• May be required to work in emergency situations
