Job summary

Rocky Gap Casino Resort is seeking a Purchasing professional to oversee all purchasing activities for the casino, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of supplies, materials, and services. You will lead contract negotiations and implement procurement policies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have strong guest-service experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
  • The ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations
  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service
  • The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide
  • The ability to read, write, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
  • The availability to work all shifts
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stressful situations
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • The ability to verify the right to work in the United States
  • This position requires a Gaming License

Responsibilities

  • Develops methods and coordinates purchasing of designated supplies, materials, services, and equipment for the casino.
  • Establishes and implements short-and long-term organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures as relates to all purchasing functions; monitors and evaluates operation effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
  • Acts as negotiator between the Resort and vendors/suppliers on procurement contracts; keeps informed of all new developments relative to available resources; makes recommendations designed to reduce costs, updates systems and provides environmentally approved materials and services.
  • Reviews major procurement contracts, coordinates contract compliance, change orders and problem resolution in conformance with contract law and licensing requirements.
  • Monitors and maintains the approved vendor lists.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REPORTING LINE

You will report directly to the Purchasing-Receiving Manager and then the Director of Finance.

EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for prolonged periods of time. Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, sit, climb, balance, carry and lift to 20 lbs. Constant use of hearing, speech, vision (including distinguishing between shades of color), radios, and tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
