MRO is seeking a Remote Release of Information Specialist in the healthcare sector to handle medical records requests and support patient care. What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review requestor information to determine records to be released in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Answer phone calls addressing various Release of Information (ROI) issues
- Process walk-in requests for medical records and log information into the ROI On-Line database
- Manage and process requests from physician offices on a priority basis
- Scan and log medical records into the ROI On-Line database
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of one year of experience entering data into computer systems
- Strong verbal communication skills with a focus on customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Proven track record of dependability
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or Health Information Management (HIM) Department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
