What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review requestor information and determine records to be released in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Answer phone calls and address various ROI issues from customers
- Log medical record requests and customer information into the ROI On-Line database
- Process requests from physician offices and fax information as needed
- Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience entering data into computer systems
- Strong verbal communication skills with a proven track record of dependability
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or HIM Department is a plus
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
- Experience working in a detail-oriented environment
