Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Rodman to support field survey crews in Nashville. You will clear line-of-sight, carry and set up survey equipment, and maintain supplies for daily tasks.

This role requires physical fitness to lift up to 35 lbs and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, communicating effectively with team members and engineers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification required.
• Ability to grasp basic surveying concepts and techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and terrains for extended periods.
• Physical ability to lift and carry survey equipment weighing up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clear brush and obstacles to maintain line of sight.
• Carry and set up equipment, such as rods, tripods, and prisms, for staking and measurement.
• Load and unload survey equipment and supplies for job assignments.
• Maintain survey supplies, such as nails, paint, rods, and flags, ensuring the crew is prepared for daily tasks.
• Gather supplies, dig for corners, and cut lines.
• Search for and correctly identify monuments.
• Plumb prisms to ensure accurate measurements.
• Measure distances using chains, tape, or other methods.
• Clean and maintain survey equipment.
• Complete other tasks related to field surveying as assigned.
