Job summary

INOTIV BOULDER LLC is seeking a dedicated staff member to assist in conducting animal studies with mice and rats, ensuring accurate dosing, data collection, and behavioral assessments. The role involves surgeries, sample collection, and maintaining meticulous records.

The ideal candidate will have biology-related education and hands-on lab animal experience, including dosing and necropsy work. This position requires compliance with safety procedures and teamwork in a Bolder, Colorado setting.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in science (biology or equivalent) with 2+ year direct laboratory animal work experience, or 8+ years of direct laboratory animal work experience without a college science degree.
• Preferred animal laboratory research experience with mice and rats, including dosing, in-life sample collections, and necropsy collections.

Responsibilities

• Administer doses of compounds to rats and mice via oral, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intraperitoneal routes.
• Perform data collections including weighing, clinical observations, health assessments, post operative monitoring, and disease scoring.
• Perform blood collections from rats and mice via tail vein, retro-orbital, and terminal draws.
• Process whole blood collection via centrifugation for plasma/serum.
• Conduct behavioral testing (Gait analysis, Von Frey, Dynamic Weight Bearing, etc.).
• Assist in formulating experimental compounds for administration.
• Assist in rodent surgeries.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate study concerns.
• Take ownership of assigned study components and ensure data quality.
• Review and verify data from junior staff for accuracy.
• Support other duties and keep the lab clean and stocked.
• Use Windows-based software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Operate general lab equipment and PPE.
