Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a Night Shift Machine Operator to safely operate and monitor production equipment in a manufacturing setting. This role focuses on furnace operations, monitoring temperatures and gas levels, and performing basic repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in an industrial environment, capable of troubleshooting equipment, and able to work a 12-hour night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or production environments is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic mechanical adjustments.
  • Comfort around industrial machinery, heat, and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, stand for long periods, and lift objects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery and furnace-related equipment.
  • Maintain furnace melting rates, temperatures, oxygen levels, and molten metal levels.
  • Perform routine checks on burners, spouts, and related equipment and ensure safe operation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, adjust processes as needed.
  • Conduct minor maintenance and preventative tasks; calibrate CO analyzers when required.
  • Record production and maintenance data; maintain a clean, safe work area.

Schedule: Night Shift - (6PM - 6AM) Starting Pay: $20/hr

Position Overview

The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position will primarily support furnace operations, including monitoring molten metal temperatures, oxygen levels, furnace levels, and related equipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a hands‑on industrial environment, troubleshooting equipment, making adjustments, and performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.

Essential Job Functions
  • Operate and monitor production machinery and furnace-related equipment.
  • Maintain proper furnace melting rates, temperatures, oxygen content, and molten metal levels.
  • Perform routine checks of furnace burners, tap holes, spouts, launders, holding furnaces, hoses, lines, and related equipment.
  • Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure they remain within required operating ranges.
  • Identify equipment or process issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and replace or repair parts as needed.
  • Perform minor maintenance, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Calibrate and monitor equipment such as CO analyzers as required.
  • Check equipment for air and gas leaks and report or correct issues.
  • Start up and shut down equipment following company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain required production and maintenance records.
  • Keep the work area clean and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform other production or machine operator duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, machine operating, or mechanically inclined experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and make basic mechanical adjustments.
  • Comfortable working around industrial machinery, excessive heat, and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, underneath machinery, and on elevated structures when required.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift heavy objects or machine parts with or without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work a 12‑hour night shift (6 PM–6 AM).
