Job summary

Stoke Space in Kent, WA, is seeking a Structures Fabricator to handle sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and rapid process iteration with engineers. You will fabricate hardware to drawings and support tooling development while staying focused and moving quickly.

The role requires 2+ years in metal fabrication, CNC access, and the ability to lift 40 lbs. It offers second shift eligibility, on-site duties, and a path toward ownership of manufacturing quality improvements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in metal fabrication, forming, cutting, with emphasis on welded sheet metal assemblies.
• Experience operating a press brake is strongly preferred
• Experience with laser cutting sheet metal or other CNC fabrication equipment is preferred
• Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications
• Problem solving skills and ability to think creatively
• Experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently; certification may be required
• Ability to work second shift and weekends as needed
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
• Able to withstand repetitive movements

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately operate sheet metal fabrication equipment, with primary focus on metal cutting and forming
• Demonstrate technical competence and understanding of metal fabrication tools
• Fabricate, and assemble sheet metal and machined components into complex assemblies
• Set up and operate press brake and laser cutting equipment to produce sheet metal components to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
• Improve the quality and throughput of the parts and assemblies you fabricate
• Build and maintain an efficient workspace with an eye toward continuous improvement
• Perform sheet metal fabrication processes including deburring, countersinking, riveting, drilling, fitting and general metal forming
• Source, create, maintain and improve tools, consumables and equipment
• Maintain stringent quality standards for the parts, processes, and people in your work area
• Execute assigned work to completion and work with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues quickly
• Clear, consistent communication to develop gaps in competency, and challenge norms.
