Job summary

Stoke Space in Moses Lake, WA is seeking a Stage Test Engineer to design, build, and operate test stands for rocket stages. You will work with hardware and software, mechanical and electrical systems, and collaborate with engineers and technicians to test rocket components, engines, and full stage vehicles.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 2+ years of rocket testing experience, and the ability to work outdoors, lift up to 25 lbs, and communicate clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or similar.
• 2 years minimum experience with testing integrated rocket vehicles.
• Experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems.
• Experience with high pressure or hazardous environments.
• Exceptional command of fundamentals.
• Willing to work outdoors for long periods.
• Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
• Passion for building high-quality systems and taking ownership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrating rocket stages for ground testing
• Managing test preparation activities
• Leading test operations including: autosequence creation, writing test procedures, and data analysis
• Designing and building fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for various test applications
• Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for various test applications
• Managing project schedules
• Performing hazard analysis
• Performing test data analysis
• Safely operating high pressure and cryogenic systems
• As part of a small team, performing everyday tasks to keep the site running (shipping and receiving, administrative tasks, etc.)
