Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Network Engineer to join the IT Networking team, supporting routing, switching, VoIP, and WiFi across the SpaceX campus. You will configure hardware, perform wireless surveys, and ensure reliable network operations critical to rocket, spacecraft, and launch activities.

The role requires strong communication, documentation, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline with 3+ years of professional network engineering experience; or 5+ years in lieu of a degree.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Arista switches, Cisco WLC, and wireless technologies.
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, LLDP; ability to configure NAC and security features.

Responsibilities

Procure, configure and install network hardware including switches, access points, UPS and PDUs.
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
Plan and coordinate network outage windows with stakeholders for updates and maintenance.
Perform wireless surveys to determine coverage gaps and implement solutions.
Configure and troubleshoot network access control (NAC) and security features.
Engage with customers, vendors and contractors to gather requirements and create implementation plans.
Build and maintain IDF rooms according to network standards.
Monitor network health using in-house and third-party tools.
Maintain network documentation and manage hardware inventory.
