Job summary

Isar Aerospace SE is seeking a Propulsion Design Engineer to lead engine hardware development from concept through qualification and production. You will optimize layout, mass, and interfaces, collaborating with fluid, combustion, structures, and manufacturing teams to ensure performance and reliability.

You will analyze structures and thermal behavior, while driving design improvements and producing detailed 3D models and drawings using CAD tools. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• MSc or MEng in Aerospace/Mechanical Eng or related field.
• Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems.
• Experience designing complex aerospace assemblies.
• Machining, tolerancing, and technical drawing standards.
• CAD proficiency, preferably Siemens NX, for part and assembly modeling.
• Experience with structural and thermal analyses.
• Strong collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Highly organized, proactive and detail-oriented.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Own engine assemblies from concept to hardware delivery, balancing scope, schedule and integration.
• Design engine hardware and fluid routing using CAD, detailing 3D models and drawings.
• Drive iterative development and optimization of flight‑proven hardware.
• Improve engine layouts while meeting functional requirements.
• Define interfaces with adjacent systems; collaborate with fluid, combustion, structures, and testing teams.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses to ensure performance and reliability.
