Job summary

Estes Aerospace is seeking engineers to design and build rocket guidance systems from concept through simulation, HIL testing, and live flight tests. You will create target-tracking using computer vision, RF, radar, and related sensors, and translate tracks into guidance commands for rockets.

You will develop high-fidelity simulations of control architectures and vehicles, perform hardware-in-the-loop validation, and iterate rapidly based on flight results.

Qualifications

• Requires strong background in robotics, computer vision, and/or Kalman filtering.
• Experience implementing and validating real-time autonomy systems.
• Comfort working across hardware/software boundaries and rapid iteration.

Responsibilities

• Design systems to detect and track targets using CV, RF, radar, and more.
• Turn tracks into guidance commands to steer a rocket.
• Build high-fidelity simulations of control systems and vehicles.
• Run hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to validate designs.
• Observe real-world performance and feed results back into design.
