Job summary

Reliable Robotics is building safety-enhancing automation for aviation. As a Flight Guidance Engineer in the Guidance, Navigation, and Control team, you will design, implement and test the flight guidance system to enable safe integration of uncrewed aircraft into the National Airspace.

Based at our Mountain View, CA facility, with ~10% travel, you will develop guidance algorithms in C/C++ and Python, evaluate performance with simulations and flight tests, and communicate system behavior clearly

Qualifications

• BS in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar advanced degree.
• 5+ years professional experience developing guidance or motion planning algorithms for real-time vehicle systems.
• Professional C/C++ and Python software development experience.
• Excellent ability to communicate system behavior to end users.

Responsibilities

• Define guidance system capabilities and requirements in collaboration with operations and pilot teams.
• Design guidance system features to integrate with flight control systems and pilot displays.
• Implement flight guidance algorithms in simulation and flight software.
• Reduce and analyze simulation, lab, and flight test data.
• Evaluate guidance system performance and behavior via simulation, hardware-in-loop, and flight test cases.
