Job summary

Rocket Lab in Mississippi is seeking a Test Operations Engineer to activate and operate critical test facilities for the Archimedes engine and Neutron vehicle. You will work with engine and propulsion teams to develop procedures and oversee facility systems.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and instrumentation expertise, safety focus, and the ability to work independently on design, build, activation, and engine tests, with positions offered at Engineer II or Senior Engineer I level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering or other technical discipline.
• 2+ years experience operating rocket engine test stands or launch complexes.
• 5+ years experience operating rocket engine test stands or launch complexes.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility test operations on console with constant communication.
• Lead and be part of a team configuring and operating the test facility.
• Conduct safe test operations and ensure data quality.
• Troubleshoot facility and test operations issues.
• Plan and optimize checkout, processing, testing and post-test operations.
• Collaborate with Archimedes and Neutron teams to test key hardware.
• Collaborate with GSE teams to design, build and check facility systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of systems; ensure proper checkout and data acquisition calibration.
