Job summary
Hickory Metal Plant, part of HSM, is hiring for an Automation Technician to support daily operation of industrial robots and automated cells. You will troubleshoot faults, assist with robot programming, and help integrate systems to keep production moving.
The role requires an Associate’s degree in robotics or related field and 4+ years of experience with FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or Yaskawa platforms, plus strong problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with robotic or automated systems.
- Associate’s degree in robotics, mechatronics, automation, or related field preferred.
- Exposure to FANUC/ABB/KUKA/Yaskawa platforms.
- Basic understanding of robot programming and teach pendant operation.
Responsibilities
- Support daily operation of industrial robots and automated production cells.
- Troubleshoot robot faults, alarms, and cycle interruptions to keep production moving.
- Assist with robot programming, teach pendant operation, and path adjustments.
- Work with EOAT, PLCs, conveyors, sensors, and vision systems.
- Support installation, startup, and commissioning of robotic equipment.
- Monitor performance and drive improvements in cycle time and quality.
