Job summary

HSM (Hickory Springs Manufacturing) Company is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems across our production equipment. You will read blueprints, perform preventative maintenance, and support process improvements with the engineering team.

The role requires experience with PLCs, drives, wiring, and welding/fabrication, plus the ability to work 12-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment and lift heavy parts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience with electrical, control wiring, drives, and PLC.
• Welding and fabricating experience required.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and in hot/cold temperatures.
• Some heavy lifting required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and repair equipment problems involving mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other power sources.
• Analyze basic electrical problems involving PLCs, motion control devices, sensors, and related items.
• Assist engineering with process improvements and advanced troubleshooting.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and standard metric measurements.
• Complete preventative maintenance lists, work orders, and inventory of repair parts.
• Transport parts using forklift and produce metal parts for machine repairs.
• Set up mills and lathes and use testing equipment.
• Heat treat parts and weld parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized area and inventory of parts.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Ability to set-up mills and lathes and use testing equipment.
• Ability to heat treat parts. Weld parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized area. Assist in maintaining inventory of parts.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be able to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, drill press, welders, grinders, torches, and general maintenance tool, etc.
• Must be able to work and communicate well in a team environment.
• Must be able to work overtime if needed.
• Some heavy lifting required.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Must have experience in electrical, control wiring, drives, and PLC.
• Electrical license preferred, but strong electrical background required.
• Welding and fabricating experience required.
• Strong mechanical background, with proven skills in reading schematics, PLC, and blueprints.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Must be able to work in hot/cold temperatures.
